Did you upgrade your street rod or Mustang to front disc brakes and the rear drums leave a little to be desired? Perhaps you bought a rear end out of a Maverick, Fairlane, or Falcon and it had no brakes on it? Regardless of the reason, if you are wanting disc brakes on your 8” Ford rear end or your small bearing 9” then this is a MUCH cheaper way to go than buying one of those high dollar set ups. Those expensive kits you can buy are great because they bolt together with little effort, BUT if something breaks in the kit in some one horse town on your way to a show, how do you get parts for it? My kits are designed around replacement parts that can be found in auto parts houses (pep Boys, AutoZone and the like). The best part is you don’t have to take out a second mortgage to use my kit.
For the specifics. These kits fit 8” Ford rear ends and small bearing 9” rear ends found in MANY 60’s through 80’s Ford cars. The axle must have the 5 on 4.5” bolt pattern (often referred to as the “Ford car pattern”) and needs to have a 2.25 to 2.50 spacing measured from the wheel mounting surface to the furthest point on the housing flange. 95% of Ford 8” and sb 9” were 2 3/8” and fit perfect. If you need directions on how to measure, just ask.
What I supply: CNC plasma cut caliper brackets that BOLT ON to your rear. These come powder coated in gloss black.I also supply you with spacer plates to replace the thickness of your old backing plate. Most kits tell you to just use washers, I provide you with spacer plates. I give you a full comprehensive list of what car calipers and rotors fit. The reason I provide this list is in case you decide to use used components to save a few extra bucks. The plates in this auction are 3/8” thick so they will work on every car using these axles from a light weight t-bucket or Model A roadster to a heavy muscle car or a 41 Willys. Many kits out there use ¼” or even as small as 3/16”,,,,,,, these are 3/8”.
You supply: the rotors, the loaded calipers, and the bolts. And as I said before, ALL of this can be found at any auto parts store. The calipers you use in this kit are available with integral parking brakes or for a lower end cost, without parking brakes.
I can ship this item if needed.
If you have ANY questions, feel free to ask. Thank you.
